We all know that impressing at an interview takes confidence and self belief – feeling good about the way that you look is half the battle…

Girl in front of Big BenOn a recent trip, students from Greenwich Community College (accompanied by their mentor and tutor) took the opportunity to purchase interview attire from funding provided to them by Cultural Capital. The formal outfits, which included corporate style suits, were purchased to be worn for upcoming job interviews and job seeking events. The funding for the outfits is part of a reward/incentive for those students who have successfully graduated.

The students had the opportunity to wear their new suits around London as a way for them to become accustomed to travelling outside of their boroughs, whilst enjoying what the city has to offer.

The trip turned out to be a fantastic opportunity for the young people to see a part of London that they rarely do – starting at Greenwich Cutty Sark and going all the way to the London Eye. The students then chose to spend the rest of the day touring the National Gallery.

Matthew Barrett, a mentor at Cultural Capital said; “It was a fantastic day and the new outfits looked great on the students. You could see how much confidence it gave them, they really looked the part! The trip itself was an opportunity for the young people to not only work on their personal presentation but to also experience London. The visit to the National Gallery was a real cultural eye opener for the students – most said they would definitely go back again.”
